Self-Care awareness month

'Self–Care Awareness Month in September is a time to remind us that taking care of ourselves, first and foremost, is essential. Self-care is often neglected in our everyday lives. We all tend to put others’ needs before our own and it is crucial to remember, that we cannot fill another’s cup from our own empty vessel.' (National Day Calendar, 2021)

I know from personal experience I have been through moments where self-care was pushed out the window. When i was going through depression I completely neglected my values and needs. Having overcome this i always try and make time for myself everyday or at least a couple of times a week.

Here are my top 5 self-care rituals I try to do every day/week:

  1. Being kind to myself for making a mistake

  2. Yoga/Pilates

  3. Meditation

  4. Drinking lots of water

  5. Going for a walk
